Get started

Create an account, add your site, paste one line and see your first visitor, in about five minutes.

Just looking? Open the live demo: the real dashboard, read only, with a made-up company’s data and new visitors arriving all the time. No account needed.

1. Create an account

Go to nvivio.com/app and enter your email address. You get a sign-in link by email; there is no password to remember. Your organisation is created the first time you sign in, so there is no separate setup step.

2. Add your site

On Your websites, choose Add site and enter your domain, for example example.com. Subdomains such as www, app and blog are included automatically. The site name is always shown in lowercase, like the domain.

You land on the installation page of the new site right away.

A domain that many people share, such as github.io, vercel.app or co.uk, cannot be a site on its own. Enter the address of your own site instead, for example yourname.github.io.

3. Paste one line

Copy the line from the installation page and paste it into the <head> of every page of your site (or your shared layout):

<script defer src="https://nviv.io/js/NV-XXXXXXX.js"></script>

NV-XXXXXXX is your site’s code; the installation page fills it in for you. Install the script explains where the line goes in WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Shopify, Next.js and Google Tag Manager, and how to let an AI coding assistant do it.

4. Check that it works

Keep the installation page open and visit your site in another tab. The installation page checks every 3 seconds and switches to It works as soon as the first visit arrives, with the time and the address of that page.

5. Read your numbers

Open the site’s Overview. It starts with one sentence about your period, then the key figures, a chart, what Nvivio noticed, and panels for sources, pages, places, devices and goals.

Next steps:

  • Set up goals for what makes a visit valuable, such as a sign-up or a demo request.
  • Measure clicks on buttons with events.
  • Invite colleagues or clients in Team and access.
  • Read about privacy: by default Nvivio uses no cookies, so you do not need a cookie banner for it.
