Close your account

Stop using Nvivio cleanly. Export what you want to keep, stop a paid plan, delete your organisation, and have your login itself removed.

Leaving Nvivio takes three steps, in this order. Want to keep the account but pay less? Change your plan or move to Free instead: Free keeps your data.

1. Export what you want to keep

Deleting cannot be undone. Before you delete anything:

  • Download each month you want as CSV, the visits and events themselves or the daily totals (Data retention), on Starter and above.
  • Export reports as CSV or PDF (Reports).
  • Save your invoices: Invoices in the menu under your email address, then Download (Invoices).

Remove the script line from your site too, so it stops sending visits.

2. Delete the organisation

An owner opens Team in the menu under your email address and, at the bottom, deletes the organisation by typing its name (Delete your organisation).

  • Every site goes, with all its visits, events, daily totals, goals, funnels and labels, and so do the people, invitations, API keys and notifications.
  • A paid plan stops at once, without more payments. Invoices are kept, as the law asks.
  • The owners get an email that confirms it. Backups of our database provider expire within 7 days.

Only want to delete one site, or its data? Use the site’s Settings › Danger zone (Danger zone). Only want to stop seeing an organisation that is not yours? Choose Leave next to your name in its Team.

3. Have your login removed

Your login (your email address and your preferences, such as your language and the weekly email) stays after the organisation is gone, and logging in again starts a new organisation on Free. To have the login removed too, email support@nvivio.com from that address. We answer within one month, as the Privacy Policy says, and the same address works for a copy of your data or a correction.

Support then removes your login together with everything kept under your name: your place in every organisation, access to single sites, invitations to your address, your preferences, favourites and questions to Nvivio. What you made for an organisation that stays, such as an import or a shared link, stays with it. An organisation where you are the only person goes with it, as in step 2: nobody would be left to use it. If others work in an organisation you are the only owner of, make one of them an owner first (Team), so nobody loses their data because you leave. Invoices are kept, as the law asks.
